What’s on at the WPI Craft Zone?
For a gold coin donation you can get hands on with Carnival Crafts. All day fun, on Goldfinch Street, next to the Theatre.
Open to all ages.

A Clown workshop: Join in the fun with visiting clowns Strawberry and Myrtis and dress like a real clown, discover your own special walk, learn face painting, balloon animal sculpting, giant bubble blowing and more………………
Float Decoration: help us put the finishing touches on our Craft Zone Float for the parade at 3pm
Crafts galore: make your own Ohakune kete, pet rock, face painting, carnival hats and masks.
Supervised by the team from the Waiouru Childcare Centre.

Gerry and The Crocodettes



The fun children's show Gerry and the Crocodettes is coming to the Fresh Zone Ohakune Carrot Carnival on Saturday 3rd October  2009.



The story starts in Croco, a Galaxy far from Earth, and home to Pat, Frincess and Gerry. Herman the Yeti has befriended these friendly Aliens and joins Gerry and The Crocodettes on stage, along with young dancers known as the Space Pups.



The musicians’ love for this show is contagious – the kids will be on their feet following the dance steps and even the adults will be jiggling. Quite simply, if you love good old hand clapping toe-tapping music (that sometimes has a message) then you will enjoy the music of Gerry and The Crocodettes.

Join in the fun on stage and as Gerry moves through the street hug an alien & get a photo with the stars










Featured at the Craft Zone will be

Myrtis Star & Strawberry the Clown

Fun for all ages with the interactive Clown Workshop. Come and join the clown experts as they teach you to dance in giant bubbles, balloon sculpting, face painting and more. Get dressed up in the funniest gear around and discover your special unique ‘clown walk’. Get your photograph taken when your transformation is complete. If you  will be working with Myrtis & Strawberry for a while you can join them in the Float Parade at 3pm and strut your stuff - the more the merrier.

SkiFM will be transmitting from The Fresh Zone Stage this year at Carrot Carnival and following the crowd around Carnival Street to check on the action throughout the day. Music and madness are guaranteed to keep you entertained while you enjoy the rides, stalls and activities of Carnival.
